Dear friends, with great joy I welcome you to the Ti-Ratana Community Centre. For decades it has been my life’s work to ease the suffering of those in need — and to remind every person, young or old, that they are valued and never alone.
The Buddha taught that the greatest wealth is a generous heart. Here in Kottawa, we put that teaching into practice: educating children who cannot afford school, training young people for honest work, opening our doors to quiet meditation, and reaching out to families in hardship.
When we lift a hand to help another, we light a heart — and that light returns to us a hundredfold.
None of this is possible alone. It is the gift of volunteers, donors and friends — people like you — that keeps our lamp burning. Every contribution, every hour of service, every kind word becomes a light in someone’s darkness.
I invite you to walk this path of compassion with us. Lift a hand, light a heart — and discover, as so many have, that in giving we ourselves are made whole.
With mettā,
Most Ven. Datuk K. Sri Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thera
